Subscription or commission: which plan should I pick?

The two plans

Subscription plan

  • Pay a flat weekly fee.
  • Keep 95% of every fare.
  • Best if you drive a lot each week.

Commission plan

  • No weekly fee.
  • Keep 90% of every fare (10% per trip).
  • Best if your driving is irregular.

Which earns more?

It depends on your weekly trip volume. At a certain number of trips, the 5% extra you keep on subscription outweighs the weekly fee. If you drive fewer trips, the zero-fee commission plan is safer because you never pay a fee on a slow week.

How to choose

You pick your plan when you sign up as a driver. If you want to change it later, ask our team via the Driver app or [email protected].

Sample comparison (illustrative)

The numbers below are illustrative only and do not represent guaranteed earnings.

Trips per week Avg fare (KES) Subscription take-home Commission take-home
20 400 KES 7,600 minus weekly fee KES 7,200
40 400 KES 15,200 minus weekly fee KES 14,400
60 400 KES 22,800 minus weekly fee KES 21,600

In this example, if the weekly subscription fee is less than the difference between the two take-home figures, the subscription plan wins at higher volumes.

No lock-in

There is no minimum commitment to either plan. Switch weekly based on how your schedule looks.
