How to change your M-Pesa number

• Riders: open Ryde, go to Account > Payment methods, and add your new M-Pesa number under M-Pesa.
• Drivers: open the Driver app, go to Account > Payouts, and tap Change M-Pesa number.

Enter the new Safaricom number and confirm it with the verification code we send. Once confirmed, the new number is active for all future charges (riders) and payouts (drivers).

Requirements

• The new number must be a registered Safaricom line with M-Pesa active.
• For drivers, instant payouts only land on numbers registered to you. Numbers registered to someone else may be delayed or flagged by Safaricom.
• If M-Pesa is not yet active on the number, dial *334# to set it up first.

Riders

Your new M-Pesa number is used for trip payments going forward. Any existing pending charges settle to the old number; only new trips use the new one.

Drivers

Your new M-Pesa number is used for all future withdrawals from your Ryde wallet. Pending payouts in transit continue to the old number.

Trouble getting the verification code?

If the code does not arrive on the new number, check it has Safaricom signal, and on a dual-SIM phone make sure the Safaricom SIM is in slot 1. Then tap resend.
